2018-19 VEX SEASON
Matches are played on a 12' x 12' field set up as illustrated in the image. There are two Alliances, a red Alliance and a blue Alliance, which are composed of two teams each. The objective of the game is to score more points than the other Alliance by scoring Caps, scoring Flags, and by Alliance Parking or Center Parking Robots on the Platforms.
SUMMARY OF OUR TEAM
Winter VEX Tournament (Dec 15th):
Team 3398E wins both the Design award and was nominated by various other teams to win the Sportsmanship award. Teams 3389A and 3389D both got to choose for final alliances and team 3389C was picked to be on an alliance. Well done to our VEX teams.
UMES VEX Tournament (Feb 2nd):
Our Robot in 3 Days (Team 3389B) was successful in building a robot that was able to compete! This makes the 5th VEX team for our team! Our team 3389E won the Design Award and was 2nd in the finals, along with their alliance team.
Springer Middle School Competition (Feb 16th):
VEX teams 3389A,C,D, and E competed at the Springer Middle School Competition in the high school division. Team 3389A took home the Design Award, team 3389C and E where the tournament champions, and team 3389C took home the Excellence Award. Team 3389D was part of the final alliances and gave their best efforts, while making improvements to their robot.
VEX Delmarva Regional Championship - DSU (Mar 9th):
Our VEX teams did a wonderful with competing and performing well. Many thanks to the mentors, club members, and parents who helped set up for the VEX Championship the night before the competition. All VEX teams were in the finals. VEX team 3389E won the Skills award and Championship award. Team 3389C was the alliance team from team 3389E and also won the Championship award. These two teams will be going to the VEX Worlds Championship in April. Congratulations VEX teams!!
